
Free Wheeler Campers is a camper van rental company conveniently based near Waterloo in central London. Our user-friendly camper vans have been designed by the Free Wheeler Camper team with space and comfort as a priority while still being compact and easy to drive. Free Wheeler Campers buys new vehicles, which are converted into individual and practical camper vans.
The company offers 2 and 4 berth camper vans for hire which are Volkswagen high-top Transporters and Crafters (diesel). This has the advantage of allowing the customer to stand up and walk around in the camper van, rather than crawl into a car style vehicle. Each camper van has an integrated 2 ring gas stove, fridge or electric cool box and a full kitchen set + pillows and duvets. The team has extensive experience of adventure and travel, understanding the essential ingredients for making your Camper Van trip both fun and practical.
The team can deliver the camper van to the airport for an extra fee, allowing you to quickly get travelling on your road trip.
To make the booking:
A non refundable booking deposit is required to secure your motorhome booking. The exact amount is detailed in the breakdown of pricing.
A second stage payment of 15% of the trip value is payable 24 hours after booking confirmation as a separate transaction.
The remaining balance is due in full, 21 days after booking confirmation
If the booking is made with less than 4 weeks to the hire date, a full payment must be made within 48 hours.
Special payment terms for 30 days or more rentals: 1> Full balance payable must be paid 180 days prior to pick up; 2> The rental cost is Non Refundable; 3> If the travel date is within 180 days, full balance payable must be paid upon booking confirmation.
We accept Paypal, Googlepay, Credit Cards.Surcharges apply for Credit Cards.
Security Bond
£750 for the Transporter Range
£1000 for the Crafter Four person MWB
There is an additional excess chargable of £500 for damages to roof of vehicle, we hold this amount, but do not deduct it.
Cancellation policy:
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
1. Up to 59 days ahead of scheduled booking a 75% refund is made, not including the second stage payment
2. Up to 45 days ahead of scheduled booking 25% refund is made, not including the second stage payment
3. 31 days ahead of scheduled booking, no refund will be made.
Travel insurance
We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of travel insurance. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.
Driver Requirement
23 and under is not permitted. The four person van age minimum is twenty five. The oldest is seventy.
We do not hire to students [Need know their part time occupation], entertainment and sports professionals, ex UK Military.
Pets
Pets are allowed. There is a cleaning fee attached which is £40, and any damage will be billable.
Driving Restriction
Vehicles are not allowed to drive outside of the EU.
You must bring three forms of identification to the pick up: your driving license, a utility bill, the credit card used for booking and passport/national ID card. You will also receive a booking reference by email and by SMS, which you must bring along.
Booking charges may apply as levied by the financial institutions, which are payable on booking.
Minimum hire
During May/June/July/August, Friday/Sat to Friday Sat is preferred; one week minimum booking time.
Minimum hire periods apply, October until April four days, one week minimum May until September.
Late return fees are £15 per hour for arranged drop offs outside of the normal working hours.
Normal working hours are 9:00 - 18:00 Monday through Thursday, late pick up on Friday until 20:00 Sunday from 12:00-17:00
No unsupervised drop offs are possible
Tanks must be empty on drop off and the van must be reasonably clean inside and out, cleaning fees of £50 will otherwise apply
All vehicles are non smoking regardless of length of hire.
Winter you must specify which countries you are planning to visit, surcharges may apply to comply with local laws and kit out the vehicle with appropriate tires
Free Wheeler Campers reserves the right to cancel or ammend this agreement at any time, providing due notice of at least one week for changes to take effect.

We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:

To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
