
We are a small family run business based in the heart of Norfolk. The popular and historic market town of Fakenham is a few miles away and we have easy access to the popular Norfolk Broads, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. We can offer a wealth of knowledge based on our personal experiences of the touring community, both locally and nationwide.
Fundays Hire was born from an idea formed whilst I was working for a large caravan and motorhome dealership where we took an average of 3 phone calls a day from people wanting to hire motorhomes. I checked through Yellow Pages and surfed the Internet but there was no one in Norfolk offering this service so I decided to put this right.
So Fundays was born. I, Peter Lattimore, and my partner, Sarah Hall, discussed the way forward over many months before we took the plunge and bought our first motorhome. We decided that we did not want Fundays to be just another hire company, so we decided to adopt the policy of personally testing the vehicles by touring in each motorhome with our children before we rent them out. This way we have first hand experience of the requirements a family new to motor caravanning could have and enables us to adequately equip the motorhome.
On your arrival at the start of your holiday we will go through the operation of the vehicle with you and spend as much or as little time as you wish to ensure you know how to operate the motorhome as required. We also provide you with detailed printed instructions in the motorhome to remind you if you are stuck. In addition, we are always available at the end of a telephone to assist if needed. We will ensure the vehicle is ready for your collection on time with all your extras on board to allow you to get to your first stop without unecessary delays.
We aim to give you the best touring holiday you can have. We can assist you in tailoring a route to encompass your requirements, the places you wish to see, things you want to do and possibly some you didn’t think of.
We will do our utmost to enhance your unique touring experience and ensure you want to use our vehicles again and again.
FUNDAYS HIRE TERMS & CONDITIONS OF BUSINESS
(PLEASE RETAIN FOR YOUR REFERENCE)
Drivers – Vehicles are right hand drive with manual transmission. There is no restriction on number of persons who may drive provided they meet the criteria below.
DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS – These are mandatory for all potential drivers.
1. Age. Drivers must be between the age of 25 & 70. Consideration will be given to drivers outside this age band provided we are consulted in advance and we are able to obtain cover from our insurers. An additional premium may be required in advance.
2. Drivers licence. We require the production, at the start of the hire, of a currant, full, domestic licence.
3. At least 3 years driving experience.
4. Satisfactory completion of our insurance questionnaire at the start of the hire covering medical history, driving convictions, insurance refusals or loading and driving convictions. If you are in any doubt as to an ability to comply with insurers requirements contact us in advance with full details.
PLEASE NOTE: No refund will be allowable if at the start of the hire no driver in the party can comply with above conditions. Therefore collision charge waiver (LLI) is optional at a cost of £13.75 per day which restricts liability to a maximum of £500.00.
INSURANCE – Our hire fee includes vehicle insurance, for British mainland travel only. Payment of the LLI will not limit liability in the case of damage above cab height and roof damage. If any accident occurs which is the fault of the hirer, FUNDAYS reserves the right not to supply a replacement vehicle if said accident was caused by recklessness or negligence by the hirer. A further damage deposit will be required and additional insurance premium in the sum of £20.00 per day, in the event of a replacement being supplied. A damage deposit of £1000.00 is required at the start of the hire to cover any damages or expenses against the vehicle not covered by insurance. This deposit must take the form of cash, signed travellers cheques or an authorised credit card slip. This deposit is fully refunded on the return of the vehicle in satisfactory condition. All clients travelling from mainland Britain to Europe must have adequate Personal Accident Insurance at the start of the hire to cover the full period abroad. Evidence of such will be required before the hire can commence.
EUROPEAN RECOVERY INSURANCE (ERI) - ERI is mandatory for all vehicles during the period they will be travelling outside mainland Britain. This provides a bail bond for Spain, Green Card and for the supply of a replacement vehicle or the repatriation to our depot of the passengers in the event of mechanical malfunction or accident. The supply of a replacement vehicle is subject to availability. In case of accident a further ERI premium is required; whoever is responsible for the accident. ERI is charged at the rate of £140.00 for the first 2 weeks and at the rate of £40.00 per week thereafter. All rates are subject to Value Added Tax. ERI is required in mainland Europe, Eire, Northern Ireland and all offshore islands. The rates above only cover countries in the European Community, Scandinavia, Switzerland and Austria. Please advise in good time if you intend to visit Eastern European countries EQUIPMENT or North Africa.
BREAKDOWN OR MALFUNCTION of – FUNDAYS will Authorise refunds of up to £100.00 without prior authority for necessary repairs provided a valid receipt, and wherever possible the faulty parts, are produced. Minor running repairs such as tyres, bulbs, oil and radio aerials are the responsibility of the hirer. (FUNDAYS are not responsible for additional charges arising from breakdown or accident and our liability is limited to the replacement of the vehicle (subject to availability) or refund of hire charges for any days lost due to vehicle malfunction). All decisions regarding refunds are at the sole discretion of FUNDAYS. The hires attention is drawn to the need for engine fluid levels to be checked on a daily basis and the vehicle to be used in the manner for which it is intended.
PAYMENT For HIRE - The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. Payment will be deducted from your nominated credit card at the time of confirmation.The supplier will collect an additional deposit of £250.00. This payment will be deducted from your nominated credit card shortly after booking has been confirmed.The balance payable is due 28 days prior to pick up. This payment will be deducted from your nominated credit card by the supplier.
PAYMENT METHOD – Payment will be accepted in cash, credit card ( we reserve the right to make an administration fee of 2% for credit card payments), Debit card, travellers cheques, bank transfer (contact us for details) personal cheque, only. We require 5 working days to clear a personal cheque unless guaranteed by a banker’s card.
CANCELLATION OR NO SHOW
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your additional deposit, the following charges also apply:
59-45 days before the start of the hire; loss of £250.00 additional deposit.
45-31 days before the start of the hire; 20% of hire fee.
31-17 days before the start of the hire; 30% of hire fee.
17 days and less before the hire; no refund, unless we can re-hire (30% charge).
No-shows will forfeit the whole hire fee.
Travel insurance
We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of travel insurance. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.
Minimum Hire Period – Unless in exceptional circumstances our minimum hire is for 7 days.
VEHICLE COLLECTION & RETURN – If a hirer fails to arrive on the day on which the hire commences and the booking is paid for, FUNDAYS will not allow the rental to be extended unless the vehicle is available. In the event of extension the appropriate daily rate will be added to the hire fee. The onus is on the hirer to advise us if there is to be a delay on collection, delays of over 48 hours may result in the vehicle being re-let in which case FUNDAYS will accept no liability for any inconvenience caused. Late returns cannot be considered unless FUNDAYS has been advised of, and agreed a delay or an extension. It is also subject to the practicality of the payment of the extended hire period before it commences. Failure to advise will invalidate insurance and may result in criminal prosecution of the driver. Agreed late returns are charged at the appropriate daily rate. Late returns that have not been agreed will be charged at £165.00 per day, or part thereof.
DEFINITION OF START & COMPLETION OF HIRE – All hires start at 15:00 hours on the day the hire commences and all returns are to be completed by 10:00 hours. We can sometimes alter these times, by prior agreement.
RETURN PROCEDURE – At the conclusion of the hire the vehicle will be checked in and any damage, not present at the start of the hire, will be noted, the hirer will be asked to sign a form stating that no accidents have taken place, involving the hire vehicle, during the period on hire. All hirers are asked to return vehicles in a clean and tidy condition as failure to do so may incur an additional charge for cleaning. Failure to empty waste from the toilet cassette will incur of an additional charge of £50.00.
DELAYS at the START of the HIRE – FUNDAYS will endeavour to ensure all hires commence at the agreed time. Certain circumstances may prevent this taking place and FUNDAYS admits no liability in this connection except to the limit of refund of hire hours or days lost.
AVAILABILITY – FUNDAYS reserves the rights to offer alternative models with equivalent or similar specifications to those advertised or booked.
GENERAL CONDITIONS – No servant or agent of the Company has the right to vary these conditions and no representative, other employee or agent is authorised to commit the Company to any liability whatsoever. The Company will not b e responsible for any statement or representation unless signed by a duly authorised member of staff. All figures in our brochure and details of vehicles are given to assist with general information and do not form part of any binding contract. Hirers should advise if they intent to travel to areas of extreme cold as it is possible the gas, water and diesel fuel may freeze.
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU – All payments are held in our trust account and are safeguarded in the event of the Company ceasing to trade. Your funds, except for booking deposits, will not be transferred to our account until the hire commences; when you will be asked to sign a certificate of authorisation. We maintain all vehicles to the highest standard but recognise that mechanical failure may occur. Every vehicle is covered by breakdown insurance and we will do our utmost to resolve and problems that may arise. Should the vehicle fall short of the standard you require please inform us immediately and we will take whatever steps are necessary to resolve the problem. Our fleet consists of several different types in each class and our brochure is only intended to illustrate the general layout, is may vary from type to type and our brochure does not form the basis of a contact. Every vehicle will have the equipment stated however.
Our prices are inclusive of unlimited mileage, gas 1 x 6kg and 1 part filled 6kg, toilet chemical and mainland British insurance. The only additional items are, European Touring Insurance and LLI Excess Insurance.
Our fuel policy is for the vehicle to leave us with a full fuel load of diesel and returned with a full tank. If the vehicle is not returned, a charge of £3.00 per litre will be charged.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many miles per gallon can I expect from a motorhome?
A. The Avantgarde 100 will give about 25miles per gallon although this has so many variables such as the way the vehicle is driven and weather conditions etc.
Do you have a list of caravan sites that we can use?
A. We will be happy to assist you to plan your holiday with touring sites and places of interest in your chosen destination. Tourist Information Centres also offer information about local touring sites.
Do I have to book Saturday to Saturday or can I book any days?
A. We endeavour to do our utmost to arrange full weeks, short breaks and alternative start dates for your convenience. These are depending on availability, please phone for an individual quotation.
Are pets allowed in the motorhome?
A. Yes, your pet is a part of your family. Be aware that not all touring sites will accept pets, we can offer holiday care for your small animals such as hamsters, guinea pigs and budgies at a small extra charge.
Do you have any automatic motorhome?
A. No, all our motorhome are manual gearbox.
Do you have anywhere I can leave my car while I am away?
A. Yes, there is space for you to leave one car while you are away at your own risk.
Is there mains electricity?
A. Most touring sites now offer mains electricity, although everything in the motorhome is able to work for a limited period using the leisure battery or gas.
What are the seating arrangements for passengers?
A. There are forward facing three point inertia seat belts available for the driver and three passengers.
Is smoking allowed and if so do valet fees apply?
Definitely no smoking in any of the motorhomes any trace of smoking having taken place £1000.00 deposit will be lost.
Are after hours pick ups/drop off possible? If yes, please describe the procedure and any extra costs.
Yes by arrangement at time of reservation as changing times the vehicle may not be available.

The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.

Definitely no smoking in any of the motorhomes any trace of smoking having taken place £1000.00 deposit will be lost.
Are after hours pick ups/drop off possible? If yes, please describe the procedure and any extra costs.
Yes by arrangement at time of reservation as changing times the vehicle may not be available.

In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.

INSURANCE – Our hire fee includes vehicle insurance, for British mainland travel only. Payment of the LLI will not limit liability in the case of damage above cab height and roof damage. If any accident occurs which is the fault of the hirer, FUNDAYS reserves the right not to supply a replacement vehicle if said accident was caused by recklessness or negligence by the hirer. A further damage deposit will be required and additional insurance premium in the sum of £20.00 per day, in the event of a replacement being supplied. A damage deposit of £1000.00 is required at the start of the hire to cover any damages or expenses against the vehicle not covered by insurance. This deposit must take the form of cash, signed travellers cheques or an authorised credit card slip. This deposit is fully refunded on the return of the vehicle in satisfactory condition. All clients travelling from mainland Britain to Europe must have adequate Personal Accident Insurance at the start of the hire to cover the full period abroad. Evidence of such will be required before the hire can commence.
EUROPEAN RECOVERY INSURANCE (ERI) - ERI is mandatory for all vehicles during the period they will be travelling outside mainland Britain. This provides a bail bond for Spain, Green Card and for the supply of a replacement vehicle or the repatriation to our depot of the passengers in the event of mechanical malfunction or accident. The supply of a replacement vehicle is subject to availability. In case of accident a further ERI premium is required; whoever is responsible for the accident. ERI is charged at the rate of £140.00 for the first 2 weeks and at the rate of £40.00 per week thereafter. All rates are subject to Value Added Tax. ERI is required in mainland Europe, Eire, Northern Ireland and all offshore islands. The rates above only cover countries in the European Community, Scandinavia, Switzerland and Austria. Please advise in good time if you intend to visit Eastern European countries EQUIPMENT or North Africa.
